Pet Friendly Hotels

Pet friendly hotels are those hotels that allow guests to keep a dog, cat or some other small animal in the room. While it should be noted that the majority of hotels do not allow pets within their premises there are a few notable exceptions. However it should also be noted that these days more and more hotels, motels and other places of lodging are becoming very pet friendly. They are welcoming guests with pets and pets with guests. What are some formalities involved?

Well, usually hotels will charge an extra fee for pets but this is not the norm. However many hotels and other lodging places will charge a per stay or a per night pet fee. This type of fees is usually non - refundable. If the hotel asks for an advance deposit this is returned at the time of check out only in the case that the pet has done no damage to the room or any other part of the hotel. In most hotels pets are restricted to the smoking room or to specially designated "pet" rooms. All hotels have a stringent code of rules applicable to pets that must be followed. For example no hotel will tolerate a barking dog. Neither will it smile upon unruly boisterous behavior from pets. This type of behavior is especially irritating to the other guests who do not have any pets or worse still dislike animals. Also please know that some hotels will permit dogs only while other animals are not allowed not even cats. Some of the hotel chains and other places that allow pets are: Days Inn, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Red Roof Inns, La Quinta Inns and Holiday Inn. There are many more such places. You can use the internet to find them all. Also do check before making a reservation with any hotel about its pet policy
