Pet Adoption
Pet Adoption is basically taking in a dog or a cat or some other animal that the previous owners have abandoned. It means looking after and providing for an animal that is bereft. This is a very humane and kind gesture as these animals in most cases are unable to fend for themselves in their abandoned state and need the security and care of loving humans. When you adopt a pet you become its new owner and are thereby responsible for its care and well being. There are many ways through which you can adopt a pet. Usually people do it by word of mouth as in they hear about a homeless pet from friends or relatives and decide to take it in. Others consult pet shelters or homes and some even go online. There are excellent websites that give you a lot of info about the ins and outs of pet adoption. One such site is bfpa.org (best friend pet adoption) which has excellent resources. It advertises animals that need adopting and tells you all about their history and present condition. This site sponsors mainly cats and dogs. It has a list of FAQ's that will answer all your questions and interesting articles that you will appreciate for their insight and humor. It also has a donation form should you decide that you have more than a passing interest in your "furry friends"
